    Maternity

Mothers who deliver at L.A. Metropolitan Medical Center Maternity Unit can be assured that they will receive the highest quality care from our dedicated and caring staff.

Infants are sent home in a safe, secure, federally approved infant car seat. Mothers will take home formula bags, baby gift packs, educational handouts, and a Mother/Baby booklet.

    Pre-admission Registration

As a courtesy and a convenience for our expectant Mothers we recommend pre-registration for their admission. This helps ensure a smooth and worry-free admission at the time of delivery. Pre-registration is offered daily in our admitting department and during our Maternity Tours.

    Childbirth Related Education

Because learning is an important part of childbirth, the Maternity Unit Staff offers a full spectrum of childbirth education with a main focus on infant care, post-partum self care, and breast feeding. Educational videos, such as Infant CPR, Car Seat Safety, Baby Care, and Mom's Self Care are available.

We encourage all family members to actively participate in the learning process. After all, a baby doesn't come with instructions, and the more support a new mother has the better it is for mom and the baby.

    Maternity Facility Tours

We invite you to come to one of our Maternity Tours that are held every Tuesday and Thursday (except holidays) from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon to get familiar with the hospital.
